Description
" Durable and easy about sums it up from our experience
Liriope 'Peedee Ingot' (named after SC's Pee Dee River) makes a great golden textural accent in the garden
which reaches to 6' tall and holds large red berries
The 1' tall stalks of Trillium x ludoviciatum terminate with whorls of silver and olive mottled leaves topped with narrow red petals which vary within the size and shape range of both parents
a true dominatrix moment
Puya dyckioides Patrinia " Durable and easy aboutWe first became familiar with the hardy bromeliad Puya dyckioides on our 2002 Argentina trip, where plantsman Sean Hogan spotted it growing on a cliff around 10,000' elevation. We subsequently (2005) planted offspring in our garden which have grown vigorously ever since, experiencing temperatures of 7 degrees F with some leaf burn, but flowering was unaffected. The olive green spiny leaves form a fast offsetting 2' tall x 4' wide patch in 5 years.
