Description
One more this week by a young William Donaldson
This card is from an ultra rare Type II Union Playing Card deck
which I chose to list side by side as they complement each other wonderfully--this one American
and also for the efficiency and efficacy of strategy it represents
This antique tintype amazes me for how completely contemporary these four look
SOLD Charming and Unusual Earlier 19th Century Watercolor and Cut Paper Pineapple in Presumed Original Frame hopi One more this week byOne of my favorite Brimfield finds, this really delights me, including for being quite unusual as far as I've ever seen, part watercolor and part paper cut. And what better way to represent the lattice like skin of a pineapple than this??! In this country the pineapple, accessible only via import from the Caribbean, became a symbol of wealth and hospitality during colonial times apparently, wealthy colonists and plantation owners would rent pineapples
