The paper was folding in thirds at some point but the fold lines are really not visible at all
This drawing is as simple as can be but I think pretty beautiful
These are wonderfully irregular
with light wear and some spotting to the wood on one side

Antique Carved and Painted Native American Chief with Fantastic Patina hand-stitched antique brush The paper was folding inI am quite sure this carving dates to the 19th century I'd guess 1870s or so and I believe most likely was carved in New England. I love the extreme folkiness of this chief, who I find quite tenderly done, reminding me more of a santos than a "Cigar Store Indian," including for the painted expression on his face. Most of all, though, I love those little feet! Deeply carved and polychromed, with a fantastic warm patina. 11 3 4" t x 3 7 8" w x 2 1 8" d.
