Comet of 1742 Size:Standard: 6 x 4in This Sunbeam began a newCompilation of astronomical observations showing the progress of a comet [now designated C 1742 C1] across the night sky between 23 February and 3 March 1742. The observers were the author, George Graham (1673 1751), James Bradley (1693 1762) and Pierre Charles Le Monnier (1675 1757). Figure appended to a letter, John Bevis, 4 March 1742, to the Royal Society [?]. John Bevis was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1765. Original: ink on paper.
