This complete double six set of 28 I believe date from the 1880s are so

I think likely the top and right edges were trimmed at some point

14 1/2” long x 3” widest diameter (where handle meets bowl) and in excellent antique condition

advertised prices in an old grocery or similar

this would be fairly usable as a ruler for smallish things

Ive really fallen in love with the look of late 19th century croquet posts, with their sculptural forms and interesting color palettesand the surface of these is wonderfully alligatored to boot. Great use of white paint on the narrow bands of this pair, too. Scuffs and scattered paint loss all over as well as soil stains to the pointy tips, all attesting to the fact that these have seen many a match. I think these are great mounted on the wall
