Mid-Century Gouache on Paper, Unsigned Abstraction in Period Frame antique schoolgirl map There is one small rimThis was the first thing that caught my eye as I walked into a show in Bath, Maine last weekend, and it has caught my eye a hundred times since! Mid century I believe, gouache on what looks like watercolor paper, in a deep period frame, gold on the facing edge. Perhaps this was done in art class as a exercise in color and form, or perhaps the work of a well known practicing artist, maybe signed somewhere not visible. (I have not taken it out of the
