This hide shows some age but is this mask is in excellent

The face is detailed with pencil and what I believe is a natural black dye/ink

I also love that the candle holder is behind her

which to my eye imparts this wild cat with a great deal of soul

Longing Little Painted Papier Mache Dog with Spring Tail Oregon settlement First half 19th cThis little papier mache doggy would make a very good companion for the little side glancing man I am listing next, with this pup's spring wire spring tail a perfect complement to the spring wire body of the figure. And the face on this pup really seems to express longing for company! Very sweet, with excellent red painted toenails, too! 2 3 8" t x 1 1 4" w x 2" d including tail. Though unmarked, my guess is this one was made in Japan, c. 1920s 40s.
