Sir James Plaisted Wilde, judge of the Court of Arches 30th Street Station in the Great Hall ofSir James Plaisted Wilde, judge of the Court of Arches, 1880. In 1860 he was appointed Baron of the Exchequer. In 1863 he was appointed Judge of the Court of Probate and Judge Ordinary of the Divorce Court. He was made a lord in 1869, and given the title Baron Penzance of Penzance, Cornwall. In 1875 he was appointed Judge under the Public Worship Regulation Act (Dean of the Arches), and also became the official principal of the chancery court of York.
