What I tasted is a superb collection of wines
500 cases made
menthol and bitter chocolate
Denis is more structured than a Clos de la Roche (when made by the same winemaker) but that is the case here
but needs to be forgotten for at least another 4-5 years and drunk over the following two decades
Raymond Usseglio, Chateauneuf Du Pape other_regions_australia What I tasted is aRuby red. Aroma of red fruit liqueur. Sweet and nicely concentrated, with good volume but only modest nuance. Shows good freshness and fruit, but finishes with some youthfully tough tannins. Seems distinctly cleaner than a bottle of the '98 I tasted last year. However, my sample of the '99 Cuvee Imperiale was plagued by a raw wood quality that dried its finish. Stephen Tanzer
