A farmhouse WITH a light house PLUS a train station AND a horse and buggy—I love how this vintage needlepoint is pretty much everything but the kitchen sink

which at least according to one source were used to carry cooked food to monasteries—an offer to the monks as an act of merit-earning

I purchased the piece at an wonderful estate sale that included a number of fine woven textiles as well as an eclectic collection of notable modern and contemporary art and design objects from around the world

But this one needed to be had! It's in terrific condition, and I love everything about it, from the triangular orange topper on the lid, to the jauntily cocked handle, to the gold rim around the top, to the bold orange and black leaf design, wonderfully enhanced with tiny green leaves here and there, making for little surprises.
