I think I'd keep it on the kitchen counter to  use all of the time

which I'd guess were one affixed to the sides

but the embroidery is perfectly intact and they are in excellent condition overall

Perlee Shilling. I've found a Joshua PerLee Shilling (1885 1947) from a long line of Perlees and Shllings in Tuscaraw Township in Stark, Ohio, who I think was likely its maker, and I'd be willing to bet the painting is of the family home. It wins me on both a macro and micro scale
