Henry IV King Edward VIII 123 (1833)Henry IV, King of England from 1399, (1932). Henry Bolingbroke (1367 1413) became king in 1399 when he led a baronial revolt that overthrew the rule of Richard II. Ruling as Henry IV, he was the first king of the House of Lancaster.
