tobacco and spice nose
Mongeard Mugneret, Clos Vougeot Vintage:2017 This is a wine of(from a . 63 ha parcel). The wood treatment isnt shy though neither is it dominant on the very ripe yet fresh nose that exhibits notes of dark raspberry, pomegranate, warm earth and the sauvage. However it is noticeable on the dense, rich and velvet textured broad shouldered flavors that deliver fine length on the powerful if slightly less complex finale. This is a bit woody though the underlying material appears to be present to absorb it in time.
