but more mineral and earthy and less fragrant than previous vintages

Note that this well-made effort is going to require at least a few years of patience first

The well-made 2000 offers a deep ruby/purple color as well as sweet black currant and cassis fruit intertwined with fennel and underbrush characteristics

This is a conservative Brane-Cantenac that refuses to go the extra inch

Hacienda Monasterio, Ribera Duero Reserva Vintage:2015 An iron note becomes more(the same blend as for the 2010 version), Inky ruby. Deeper and darker in character than its younger sibling, displaying scents and flavors of blackcurrant, dried cherry and licorice, with a spicy element adding vivacity. Opens nicely with air, picking up a smoky nuance and a touch of candied rose. Finishes sappy and very long, with velvety tannins building slowly and framing the wine's lush fruit. Josh Raynolds
