with an elegantly textural attack and a creamy core of fruit that's underpinned by a bright but nicely integrated spine of acidity

Deep garnet-purple in color
In 2016 this was more Vosne in style but in 2015 it’s clearly a Nuits villages but one with a certain refinement
Mauro Veglio, Barolo Castelletto other_regions_italy with an elegantly textural attackI didn't have great luck with these samples of the 2015 Barolo Castelletto. The first bottle had a bit of button mushroom, suggesting maybe an open botte, whereas the second appeared vaguely corked. This wine is aged for 24 months in barrique, 70% of which is neutral. At any rate, this Barolo shows a darkly saturated appearance with a thick fruit intensity. Production is some 6,000 bottles.
