fruitcake and sandalwood over a core of preserved plums
Most of the time I am greeted
cherry and lovely floral nuances and in particular
Reduction once again dominates the fruit
There is better verve to the large-scaled flavors that are not quite as dense as those of the Bressandes but do offer good power on the very firm finish that is again shaped by relatively grippy and inelegant tannins
Pousse d'Or, Corton Clos Roi Vintage:2014 fruitcake and sandalwood over aAs is typically the case, this is earthier and much more sauvage than the Bressandes though it retains good freshness and pinot noir character. The nose speaks primarily of plum and floral aromas that are in keeping with the sappy, rich, powerful and broad shouldered flavors that drench the palate with dry extract on the very firmly structured and hugely long finish. This should be a great wine in time. 95 2027+
