so it lives now as a very sweet but quite subtle piece

but what a couple of beautifully rendered

(I had this one in my hands for a few minutes several years ago before selling it

this one I found it in an off the beaten path spot in Maine

SOLD Early (c. 1890s) Richter Anchor Stone Tangram Puzzle with Beautiful Original Designs Booklet duchampoian I fell for it immediatelyRichter & Co, Germany, is famous for its many late 19th early 20th century sets of stone blocks, including very large sets made for constructing elaborate structures. This tangram "Anchor Puzzle" is the simplest among them, and my favorite in no small part for the booklet accompanying it, showing 176 different designs to be made with the blocks, and which I find just gorgeous. (I think they pages are lithographed, but they look almost like woodblock
