Elgart who painted this had a pretty great time doing so
It shows a few areas of loss on the sides (not visible when from front
and flowers and vines
but when I spotted this from a distance
with ribbed areas at four points giving it a bit of tooth

European, most likely Scandanavian; I am not an expert on bentwood pantry boxes, but I think the manner in which the end of the wood is secured (known as Svepaskis in Swedish) is indicative of that. There is a carefully (glue) repaired split to the lid, but the green paint and unusual long and low form I think are so lovely, I don't much care. 7 1 2" l x 4 3 8" d x 1 1 4" t.
