Early Makah Northwest Coast Native American Lidded Basket hanging box 1 7/8" diameter x 5/8"Another Makah basket, from the Northwestern tip of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, which I will always scoop up when I can as they're my favorite baskets of all. The color on this one has faded, as looking inside makes very clear, but it is an old one, and beautifully constructed, made entirely of bear grass and cedar bark, with no incorporation of raffia, as seems to have became the common case post 1930s or so; I believe this one is
