A Decided Preference Size:Large: 7 x 5in 18th February 1981'A Decided Preference', 1877. France is shown wearing the outfit of the Republic and deciding that she looks her best in it. This relates to the elections to the French Chamber of Deputies that took place in mid October 1877. The elections resulted in a triumph for the Republicans who won 316 seats.
