A buffalo pound ploughing the Lords gave the BillA buffalo pound, Canada, c1819 1822 (1823). From Narrative of a Journey to the Shores of the Polar Sea in the Years 1819 22 by John Franklin (1786 1847). Franklin commanded an expedition to the Canadian Arctic in 1819 1822. The expedition was a disaster, costing the lives of 11 of the 20 partcipants, mostly due to starvation. In 1845 he led an expedition to attempt to locate the Northwest Passage. None of its members returned alive.
