Britsh suffragette Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence's release from prison Finish:Stretched 22nd August 1970Britsh suffragette Emmeline Pethick Lawrence's release from prison, 17 April 1909. The procession in her honour of her release marched from Marble Arch to the Aldwych Theatre. Emmeline Pethick Lawrence (1864 1942) was a highly effective fund raiser and treasurer for the suffragette movement, raising the equivalent of 3 million in five years. She was arrested four times and served over four months in prison.
