It is in very good vintage condition

with an opening of 7/8" across

The patina on this piece

barely visible but meaning that the lip is fragile and the basket is best picked up by the body

I'd probably be inclined to keep this one very near at hand, perhaps sitting in an old wooden bowl on the counter filled sea salt, so that I could use it all of the time. Hand carved and quite old I think, it's got a great shape, nice large bowl, and terrific little stars inside of squares carved in the handle, with a row of dots on either side. I think one can really viscerally feel the love and care that went into making this; so
