Chinese Export Canton Blue and White Porcelain Oval Lidded Box art exhibition poster visible from the back viewSo lovely, I am guessing this is a box that was built around the lid i. e, the jar to which the lid originally belonged was broken along the way, and this wooden box was custom built to fit it. I am certainly very glad they made the effort, and love the pairing of the blue and white with the dark wood. The lid itself, 19th century Chinese export porcelain I believe, features a pagoda in landscape and is very finely done; I especially love the border
