This charming Japanese dragon-shaped cast iron or lead flower / ikebana frog I believe dates from the 1930s

but seems to have come from different animals as the eye brows are very wooly while the beard is much finer

I am not certain if it was designed by David Gil himself, but is definitely reflective of his era at Bennington, and bears a strong resemblance to his various fish platters.
