Hand-painted German Porcelain Boxing Figure hand-painted wooden box I believe it dates fromI'm really smitten with this sweet little hand painted German porcelain figurine of a pink cheeked, shirtless young man with dukes up! He is about the gentlest young boxer one might envision, appearing more disposed to taking a swim than taking a punch! Rendered in a manner that seems inspired by a pair of early19th century Staffordshire boxing figures (though certainly not as fine as those) I would guess this boxer dates from the 1940s or so.
