She is easily identified by her one leg outstretched, ready for swift action and the positions of her hands. Her left hand is in the mudra of protection whilst the right assumes the mudra of giving. She is adorned with intricate ornaments and sits atop a lotus flower. Born from the tears of the Boddhisattva of compassion, it is believed Tara will protect humans crossing the ocean
