It gained such widespread popularity that attorney Father Garnier, in charge of the liqueurs at the time, officially named it 'Chartreuse Verte' and registered the "Chartreuse" mark in 1852. Today, the Chartreux Fathers continue to produce and manufacture this liqueur at their Aiguenoire distillery
